The Sneffels Regional Youth Climate Summit is a youth-driven conference designed to bring together high school students from across Southwest Colorado with a focus on San Miguel, San Juan, Ouray, and Montrose Counties, for a day of learning, connection, and action. Co-led by local students, Telluride EcoAction and partners, and sponsored by Lyra Colorado, the Telluride Institute, and the Telluride Science and Innovation Center, the summit fosters resilience in rural mountain communities through climate science education, youth-led presentations, nature connection, a green career expo, eco-art, and hands-on projects like real life policy advocacy, a regional youth zine, and school- or community-based climate project planning.
